Description
A dual-purpose insulating and render-carrying board, our Wood Wool Board is resistant to moisture, frost, fire and vermin and has excellent acoustic insulation properties. Wood wool panels are composed 50% of long, strong fir fibres, 35% of mineral binders, mainly Portland cement and, the remaining 15%, made up calcium carbonate residue from marble processing. The fibres are mineralised – this procedure stops biological deterioration by making fibres completely inert. Wood wool boards are an effective acoustic insulation.
- Conform to EN 13168 and are certified Ecobiocompatible.
- They are waterproof, freeze-proof and damp-proof, making them appropriate in damp environments.
- They are suitable for use in the plinth area ( in conjunction with a gravel drain) when insulating externally with wood fibre boards which form part of EWI systems.
- They provide an excellent background for lime renders and plasters.
- Reduce cold bridges.
- Fix mechanically with plastic washer/screw or EWI insulation anchors – see below. For uneven masonry surfaces bed the boards on Lime Green Duro.
- As internal render carriers screw to timber studs with stainless steel screws. 8-9 screws per board.
