“Obtaining rooflights that meet the requirements of Passivhaus design has until recently been near impossible. Whilst invaluable in designing in additional light to a building the dangers of over-heating can not be overlooked . On south faces particularly provision must be made in the form of blinds to prevent this happening. ”
We would recommend that for new build Passivhaus the more cost-effective, FTT U6 would be adequate to meet the standard and would avoid using a window containing krypton. The FTT U8 would however be of use where design constraints are already pushing the annual heat demand close to15kWh/m².a and where there is no other cost-effective design solution.
Exterior aluminium colour of rooflights is RAL 7022. Conservation variants are finished in RAL 9005.
